Welcome Fantasy football fans, Rex Callahan here from FantasyWeek.us with your rapid-fire Thursday start-or-sit rundown.
The NFL season kicked off in Seattle last night, and now Week 1 shifts across the globe to Melbourne. With a short week and major injury questions clouding tonight's clash, you need quick answers. Here are five crucial start-or-sit calls you must lock in before kickoff.
Monitor Christian McCaffrey right up to kickoff. Calf and Achilles tightness held him out of practice early this week on a short schedule. If active, you start him, but Aaron Donald coming out of retirement for the Rams adds real risk.
Start Matthew Stafford on Thursday night. He enters the year throwing to Davante Adams and Puka Nacua against a Forty-Niners defense where star pass-rusher Nick Bosa is limited by a knee issue.
Start Deebo Samuel against Los Angeles. Even with kick return duties and Mike Evans on the field, a hobbled McCaffrey forces Kyle Shanahan to feed Samuel touches in space.
Start Davante Adams on Thursday night. Safety help will shade heavily toward Puka Nacua, leaving Adams in favorable single coverage on the perimeter for his Rams debut.
Sit Mike Evans against Los Angeles. Kyle Shanahan will scheme touches for Deebo Samuel in space, capping Evans to a low-volume floor in his Forty-Niners debut.
